Writing as a Professional Development Tool
WORKSHOPS | COACHING | ON-SITE | ONLINE
As "first reader", editor and curator of ALT/space, the international writing project of the Teaching Artist Journal, Malke has deep experience with writing specifically, concretely, and personally about one's teaching practice.
Over the last few years, almost 50 ALT/space contributors have created a deep, rich archive of what it means to teach in and through the arts. But this kind of writing is not just about publishing, or limited to the arts alone. It's also the key to important parts of curriculum planning, advocacy, promoting your work, fundraising, and assessment.
In this active workshop, educators of all types will explore the issues and ideas that matter most to them about their work. Participants will read model stories of practice, engage in discussions about their own teaching, begin the process of drafting a story and receive feedback.
